ADSL

ADSL provides a standardised IP based connection that uses a wide range of readily available equipment that requires little specialist knowledge to setup or utilise. Transit2 can of course advise on issues such as security and Quality of Services (QOS) matters that may be important to the business user.

ADSL Contention ratios vary from as low as 1:1 through to 50:1 so whatever the requirement there is a solution that balances performance/cost. Download speeds of 256 Kbps, 512 Kbps, 1 Mbps, 2 Mbps and up to 8Mbps with ADSL MAX ; all ADSL upload speeds are fixed at 256 Kb with faster sppeds being available on ADSL Max depending on exchange line quality and distance. The majority of data for standard internet use is in the downstream direction and therefore 256 Kbps upstream is not an issue for most users.

Transit2 can offer a DSL upload speed matched to the downstream though our SDSL service, where this is available or can offer bonded ADSL to combine multiple \lines to build higher bandwidth and more resilient solutions. Options also include managed routers and security devices as we as hosting solutions.
